With over 40,000 customers in 150 different countries, it is not surprising that SAP is one of the world’s most popular providers of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications. Keeping with its mission to provide the single integrated software application that small to midsized enterprises (SMEs) need to gain further intelligence into their business, SAP is constantly  making numerous improvements to the flagship ERP application SAP Business One with version 9.1. Following up the numerous additions to last year’s major release, the anticipated 9.1 update which will both introduce new features and improve some existing ones.

With so many enhancements, it is hard to decide on the number one reason to upgrade so instead here are three major additions to SAP Business One Version 9.1 that should be noted by every business: 

1. Business Logic and Localization

One of the biggest changes to SAP Business with the 9.1 update is to new enhanced production module. The new module allows users to manage and place resource capacity as well as the ability to capture machine, labor, and other resources with associated costs. These new features can increase the visibility of available capacity within your company so that inefficacies can be identified and fixed.

2. Reporting and Analysis

Another big update to SAP Business One with the 9.1 release is a focus on reporting with the addition of SAP Crystal Reports 2013. SAP Crystal Reports 2013 offers a more streamlined report design, improvements to data sources, mobile and viewer support, and the addition of OEM and developer features.

3. Infrastructure and Architecture

Role-based user administration is another feature that will be introduced in SAP Business One 9.1. Permission groups enable customers to define role-based authorizations so administrators can grant certain permissions to users based on their roles within SAP Business One.

Beyond these new features in SAP Business One 9.1, there are a number of additional features that have been added based on the needs of the growing SMEs. Here are a few additional features that can also be found in the latest version of the application when it ships later this year.
