Sage Intacct for the JPB Foundation

Created in 2011, The JPB Foundation (JPB) is an engine of the non-profit world. Grants from its large endowment help charitable organizations carry out their missions.

JPB’s mission is to advance opportunity in the United States through transformational initiatives that empower those living in poverty, enrich and sustain our environment, and enable pioneering medical research.

The Challenge

JPB’s legacy accounting systems included Sage 300 and Sage 50—solid solutions from a trusted enterprise software company.

While some organizations never need more than those systems, JPB, one of the largest grant-making foundations in the US, had challenges with both.

Simple accounting tasks were difficult and time-consuming with Sage 300, and increasing file sizes made Sage 50 sluggish. When the world quickly shifted to remote work in 2020, JPB staff couldn’t access Sage 50 from home.

The Solution

To continue its mission, JPB needed to move finance to the cloud. Enter Sage Intacct, a modern, cloud-native financial management solution that delivers the power and flexibility JPB needs while keeping the foundation in the same product family.

JPB partnered with Vision33, an expert in Sage Intacct and enterprise resource planning (ERP) design, implementation, and support. Especially appealing to JPB was Vision33’s exclusive cloud-based integration platform as a service (iPaaS) solution that would enable the foundation to seamlessly integrate Intacct with its other business applications.

The Result

JPB’s team can now access its powerful but easy-to-use system from anywhere, on any device. Uploading investment transactions and payroll data to Intacct in large batches is fast and easy. Real-time information and robust, customizable reports help JPB’s leadership make quick, confident decisions.

Most importantly, Intacct’s automation has reduced manual effort, giving JPB’s team more time to focus on its mission of helping non-profit organizations.
