At Vision33, one of our goals is to equip our customers with the tools they need to achieve their vision for growth and success. More than that, we help our customers to empower employees with the right technology to facilitate their roles. Today, we’ll look at one such tool – the Analytics Portal in SAP Business One version for SAP HANA.

The Analytics Portal allows you to automate report distribution and give employees in the field easier access to reports. Without having to log into their ERP system, off-site employees can access these reports from the convenience of a web browser. This is a way to extend the capabilities of SAP Crystal Reports and Microsoft Excel-driven reports saved in SAP Business One. It’s also a great example of how SAP Business One version for SAP HANA gives your business tools to further leverage your business data by allowing your employees to access data from your database without the need to be in front of a computer with access to SAP Business One.

Accessing Your Analytics from the Analytics Portal

After the user enters their name and password and has accessed the Analytics Reports, they will see three options on the menu to the left of the screen: ‘All reports,’ ‘Favorite Reports,’ and ‘Report Scheduling.’

All Reports

As the title suggests, this is a complete listing of all the reports that are available to the user in the Analytics Portal. The layout of the Analytics Portal divides the reports into categories for easy navigation, including Purchasing, Sales, Customer Relationship Management, Inventory, Financials, and Banking. There are also areas that can be further expanded upon so you can see more of each category on the screen. As the reports become more familiar, users also have the option to “favorite” the reports by clicking on the star icon next to the report of their choosing.

Favorite Reports

The Favorite Report section allows users to limit the number of visible reports within the appropriate categories. This handy feature provides quick and easier access to frequently used reports without having to sift through the list every time.

Report Scheduling

The last tab is Report Scheduling, where a list of scheduled reports are displayed. The user can also change the report parameters from here, including the file format, the frequency and time intervals with which the report will be run, as well as the ability to specify who the report is to be sent to. If a user would like to see the reports over a certain time period, it is possible to keep a history of the reports as well.

Running a Report

Running a report from the Analytics Portal is a simple operation. The user clicks on the icon to the right of the name of the chosen report and then the ‘Run’ button. Within a few short seconds, the Analytics Portal will return a report. The user can then change the size of the report, print, download, share via email, or switch to a presentation mode. These convenient features are currently only available in SAP Business One version for SAP HANA.
